Bio
Aaron Horne Jr., MD is a structural and peripheral cardiologist who treats people across the gambit of cardiac and vascular issues. His area of expertise includes taking care of patients with chest pain, palpitations, shortness of breath, leg pain and episodes of syncope which is when a patient loses consciousness.
Dr. Horne’s clinical focus is on the fastest growing population in the US – those who are 85 years and older. Many of these people have aortic stenosis, which means that the valve that enables the blood to leave the main pumping chamber of the heart cannot adequately get blood to the brain and other vital organs. “I can in certain instances replace the aortic valve through a less invasive procedure which prevents the need for open heart surgery”, he says. He also focuses on fixing arterial blockages that give blood supply to the legs which can assist patients with circulation problems, helping people be more mobile and prevent amputations.
Treating every patient in the same manner as he would want his family members to be treated is Dr. Horne approach to patient care. During a patient visit, he wants to ensure that every question is answered before the patient leaves the office, so they know he is invested in their care. He enjoys treating people who present when they are most vulnerable and derives enjoyment in helping them reach their optimal quality of life.
When not treating patients, Dr. Horne enjoys jogging and spending time with his wife and two children.
