Bio
Dr. Scott is a board-certified dermatologist and a fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology. She holds the position of Associate Director of the Skin of Color Division at the University of Miami and also works as a cosmetic and clinical research dermatologist in Miami’s design district. She is highly trained in diagnosing and treating over 3000 skin, hair, and nail diseases, with a special focus on treating darker skin tones.
Dr. Scott grew up in Springfield, Massachusetts, and attended Smith College on a full-tuition scholarship awarded annually to a Springfield public school student. She graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Neuroscience and pre-medical studies, complemented by a Howard Hughes Medical Institute research fellowship. She earned her medical degree from Harvard Medical School and completed a research fellowship in cutaneous immunology at Brigham and Women’s Hospital. She then completed her Internal Medicine internship at Carney Hospital in Boston and her dermatology residency at the University of Miami Department of Dermatology and Cutaneous Surgery.
Dr. Scott relocated to San Diego after her husband was recruited to lead the Ocular Oncology division at UCSD. They have four daughters and a Belgian Malinois, making their lives wonderfully full and a bit hectic.
Dr. Scott has served as an expert dermatologist consultant for national and international brands and has been featured in numerous publications.
